In 2008 Jeremy Ruggles released a barnburner of an album, "A hole is to dig". His unique style of song arrangement, untethered lyrical approach, and emotional displays of bombast were all elevated to new distinct plains. Genres are skillfully mashed together within single songs while melodies seep in from all angles. The words are crafted with diabolical care and evoke vivid pictures of light and darkness. These are words of honesty, desperation, and searching, that dig into the psyche and demand you "give heart" and "give up". Lyrical Cohen-esque maturity matched with Bermian wit, housed in a punk ethos.

Words from Jeremy: "Today Diamond Wave Press is putting out a reissue of my 2008 album, "A Hole Is To Dig." I just listened to it for the first time in forever (even though I greenlighted this months ago) and was shredded with nostalgia. Memories of writing these in Rocketstar cafe, ordering a different coffee drink each time, sneaking into Western Sound Studios at night to use the Steinway and fancy mics and leaving at 3 in the morning to go to work. Setting up guitar amps to record in my parents horse barn. The words evoked memories of a reckless me who threw himself at everything for better or worse. Definitely some notes I wish I could re-sing or playing flubs I wish I would have fixed, but hey, that's the past. Always there to haunt you until your last breath."
